Take a look at this gorgeous red-tailed hawk! As part of ongoing research efforts, Forest Preserves of Cook County Wildlife staff capture hawks and other raptors to study and band. Before release, they performed a full health work up of the hawk to take measurements, determine the bird’s sex, and study the hawk for any indication of zoonotic disease.
